According to the Department of Consular Affairs, there are 7 types of Thai visa as follow:
1. Courtesy Visa
2. Diplomatic Visa
3. Long Stay O-A , O-X Visa
4. Non-immigrant Visa
5. Official Visa
6. Tourist Visa
7. Transit Visa
As of December 2020, non-Thai nationals from all around the world can apply for a tourist visa to enter Thailand. Tourist visa lasts 60 days starting after two weeks quarantine is done. Apart from the tourist visa, a new type of visa was introduced by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in an attempt to promote tourism that was bettered by the outbreak of COVID-19.
The Thailand Special Tourist Visa (STV)
What is STV?
The STV visa targets long-stay tourists and allows non-Thai nationals to enter Thailand under the condition that they comply with Thailand’s quarantine regulations.
Duration
With STV, tourists can stay in Thailand up to 90 days. It can be extended twice for further 90 days each time.
Effective date
STV was officially published on September 29, 2020. It is effective from October 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021.
Non-Thai nationals who complete the application procedure in time are free to enter Thailand.
Cost
The fee for issuing STV visa is 2,000 THB (about 65 USD). The extension for another 90 days also costs 2,000 each time. The visa fee is non-refundable.
*Note: The cost only covers the visa fee. Tourists still have to pay for other fees such as flight ticket, ASQ hotel, and accommodation after the two weeks quarantine at their own expenses.
Who can apply for STV?
The latest announcement was published by the Royal Thai Government Gazette on December 9, 2020, with immediate effect that all long-stay visitors from around the world is eligible to apply for STV—tourists, business travelers, investors, and others, as well as travelers and crews of foreign yachts.
Where to apply for STV?
Non-Thai nationals should contact the Royal Thai embassy/consulate in their country of origin to declare your intent for a long-stay visit in Thailand.
Requirements and documents for each country’s Thai embassy/consulate may be different. Please check with your local Thai embassy/consulate for further details.

What is Thailand Elite Card?
Thailand Elite Card was introduced in 2003. The project is owned by “Thailand Privilege Card Company Limited” which is a state-owned enterprise under the care of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. It is a membership package that offers benefits and privileges to non-Thai nationals who wish to stay in Thailand for a term longer than the visa permitted term.
What are the benefits?
Elite members are offered exclusive service in exchange for a membership fee. Some examples are:
1) Stay in Thailand up to 20 years and renew every 5 years.
2) Multiple entries.
3) One-year extendable length of stay.
4) Complimentary high-end service including golf courses, spas, hotels, clubs, and medical facilities.

How many types of the Thailand Elite Card are there?
There are currently 7 program options for the Thailand Elite residence visa:
1. Elite Easy Access
– 500,000 THB membership fee
– valid for 5 years
– can be upgraded to another package
– suitable for solo visitors who wish to stay in Thailand for a short term.
2. Elite Superiority Extension
– 1 million THB membership fee
– valid for 20 years
– suitable for expats and retired people who wish to stay in Thailand for a long term.
3. Elite Family Premium
– allows the immediate family of an Elite Ultimate Privilege member to apply for a Privilege Entry Visa.
– 1 million THB membership fee
– subject to validity of core member
4. Elite Family Excursion
– available for a minimum of two people
– 800,000 THB membership fee
– valid for 5 years
– suitable for families who wish to stay in Thailand for a short term.
5. Elite Family Alternative
– 800,000 THB membership fee
– valid for 10 years
– suitable for families who wish to stay in Thailand for a long term
6. Elite Privilege Access
– tailored exclusively for existing Thailand Elite members
– 1 million THB membership fee
– valid for 10 years
7. Elite Ultimate Privilege
– even better business and pleasure benefits & privileges
– 2 million THB membership fee
– valid for 20 years
– suitable for non-Thai nationals who wish to stay in Thailand for a long term
In conclusion, the Thailand Elite Card is an interesting choice for non-Thai nationals who plan to stay in Thailand for more than 60 days and 90 days; a specified date for a tourist visa and special tourist visa respectively.

The six government-certified golf resorts for golf quarantine in Thailand include three in :-

Mida Golf Club is located west of Kanchanaburi and is a regulation par-72 course laid out over 800 acres with multiple room types available. It has a driving range, practice areas, and swimming pool.
Evergreen Hills Golf Club, also in Kanchanaburi, has a 97-room resort, clubhouse, restaurant, driving range, tennis court, and swimming pool.
Blue Star Golf Course, also in Kanchanaburi, is a par 72, 7,000-yard course with a choice of accommodation and room types, clubhouse, driving range, and practice areas.
Artitaya Golf & Resort in Nakhon Nayok offers a challenging 18-hole layout supported by the resort, golf clubhouse and restaurant.
Sawang Resort and Golf Club in Phetchaburi is an 18-hole international quality course with hotel, restaurant, driving range, swimming pool, clubhouse, and pro shop.
Artitaya Chiang Mai Golf & Resort in Chiang Mai is an 18-hole course measuring 7,329 yards from the back tees. It has a restaurant and clubhouse.
Foreign golfers wishing to visit Thailand during this time will be allowed to spend their two-week quarantine period at any of the six certified golf resorts and move around in the resort environment and also play golf, rather than just having to isolate in their rooms.
However, golfers still need to have all of their advance arrangements in good order for arrival and entry, including a visa, which can include a Single-Entry Tourist Visa (TR) or a Special Tourist Visa (STV); medical and travel insurance; and a Certificate of Entry, to name but a few.
Thailand remains a golfer’s paradise even during the COVID-19 pandemic. With fewer players on the links, it is now easier to book tee times, and the pace of play is much faster than ever with less wear and tear over the last year as well.
Golf courses in Thailand also retain their great value for money, and some now offer special quarantine packages with discounted green fees and special amenities.
